As women in banking, it is important that we lift each other up and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. The entire purpose of the Girl Banker blog is to do just that! The Girl Banker of the Week series serves as a way to highlight Girl Bankers everywhere by telling their stories and motivating and encouraging other women in banking. It also is a great way for women in banking to connect! Read below about this week’s Girl Banker of the Week!
Molly Carpenter | Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations | FNBC
I am thrilled to highlight Molly Carpenter as my very first Girl Banker of the Week! I first met Molly in 2015 as a 3rd-year student at Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, CO. She had reached out to me in advance for advice and tips as a first-year student, given that we were both marketing focused bankers from the great state of Arkansas and we’ve been connected ever since.
Molly is a fourth generation community banker at FNBC Bank where she currently serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. She is a Graduate School of Banking in Colorado, holds a Master of Business Administration in Leadership and Ethics from John Brown University, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from Arkansas State University She chairs the Sharp County Community Foundation, is the secretary and treasurer of the Spring River Innovation Hub Board of Directors, co-chairs the Spring River Ambulance and Paramedic Board of Directors, serves on the Ozarka College Foundation Board, and serves on the Strategic Communications Advisory Board at Arkansas State University. She is a past-president of the Quad Cities Rotary Club and a past-assistant governor for Rotary District 6150.
As you can tell, Molly is a model community banker by serving her community in multiple capacities beyond her daily duties as a banker. But it doesn’t stop there! In 2015 she was recognized as one of Arkansas Business‘ 20 in their 20s: The New Influentials, an annual award given to 20 individuals making an impact on the business and nonprofit world in Arkansas, and by the Independent Bankers of America as one of the Top 25 Community Banking Social Media Influencers on Twitter.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know Molly more and more over the years and it’s truly inspirational to see her thrive in her career at such a young age. (She’s only 30!) She has earned her seat at the table and you can certainly tell why when you talk “bank talk” with her. Molly is the perfect example of a Girl Banker that is making her mark on the world!
